My Personal and Professional Statement
I believe that Happiness is our right and that Happiness is the ultimate underlying goal in psychotherapy. Because the need for psychotherapy is often accompanied by emotional vulnerability and pain, and because it can require a great deal of courage to begin, you have a right to expect an atmosphere of safety, an assurance of confidentiality, a highly trained and experienced therapist, and a genuine and authentic fellow being. I offer you that resource.
A fully lived life (including being a wife, mother and grandmother) and decades of having a private practice of psychotherapy have given me experience with a broad range of human problems and clinical solutions. I have seen many clients make changes in their lives that enable them to become more fully self actualized and to move toward their potential and Happiness. I believe that a sense of inner peace and the capacity for healthy, respectful, intimate, and loving relationships are goals that my clients can achieve and that will bring Happiness. Let me help guide you on your path to living a happy, meaningful life in genuine connection with both yourself and others.

A Different Model of Conducting Psychotherapy
I invite you to spend 50 minutes in my quiet and peaceful hilltop office overlooking the ocean in Soquel or to work with me via Internet.
We will work intensively (at least two hours a week) for short, contracted periods of time such as 2 or 3 months. During that period of meeting a minimum of two days a week, the therapy has the opportunity to build in intensity and increase its effectiveness.
After that much intense, introspective work, we take a break for integration of the work on your own. First we negotiate the time period of the break, and if needed, a re-starting time. This empowering time period creates a personal space to assimilate the work and let any positive changes be felt and integrated.
I find that for many people this is the fastest way through change and/or crisis. If needed, I am always available by phone or email during the hiatus in therapy.
I use a variety of techniques when appropriate, including EMDR, shamanic journey, hypnosis and imagery, talk, homework --whatever works at the time. Many of these techniques, useful life tools, can be incorporated by my clients into their everyday lives.
I invite you to consider this form of intensive, condensed therapy as a useful way of dealing with our present life stresses and crises.
Separate exit for maximum privacy. 8 minutes from the freeway. It is time to give to yourself and find happiness.
A Little Bit More About Me
I grew up in California and I have lived in Santa Cruz county for 40 years. I am a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I have been married, divorced and remarried. I have both biological and step-children. I experienced the '60's and the wonderful counter-culture that entailed. I have lived in the country, the wilderness and the city. I love music, dance and travel. I love people and helping others. I love my life. I also enjoy poetry in the garden. I am entering my 70th decade and I love it. Many things make me happy and grateful.
